Take the SAPA training this term and become a Sexual Assault Peer Advocate!
Applications are now being accepted for the upcoming training this term (15S). Applications are due Monday, April 6th by 12pm. The first day of training is Tuesday, April 7th at 2:00-3:50pm.

What is a SAPA?
A Sexual Assault Peer Advocate is a Dartmouth student who supports other students/peers who have experienced or know someone who has experienced sexual assault, relationship violence, or stalking either here on this campus or in the past. SAPAs provide a safe and non-judgmental space for students who have experienced sexual violence to talk about what happened. Some individuals who have experienced sexual violence feel more comfortable talking to another student, and SAPAs fill this important role. SAPAs also can provide information and connection to important support services. SAPAs have the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life by being there for them during a critical time of need. SAPAs have and continue to make a real and lasting positive impact on campus.
The Training:
This term-long, twice a week training provides extensive information on how to support a survivor of sexual violence, from things like knowing what to say and what questions to ask to understanding how and when to direct others to the appropriate resource. Each training session will be highly interactive and provide many opportunities for practicing inter-personal skills, and will often include guest-speakers from all of the difference resources and support staff both on and off campus.
