As a part of V-February, Dartmouth’s annual campaign with V-Day, the global campaign to end violence against women and girls, Voices provides a platform for women to share their stories.

DHE runs a wide range of technical projects in developing nations, including small-scale hydropower, improved cookstoves, and an initiative aimed at improving access to clean water. They strive to encourage development, improve health, and reduce environmental impact through sustainable, affordable, socially-conscious solutions for communities in need. Hosted by DAWG, this film explores the relationship between nutrition and health. "Forks Over Knives examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that allict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods." SHORED UP: When Human Nature and the Force of Nature Collide, 5:00pm, Haldeman 041
An award-winning film about the effects of rising waters on coastal communities. Filmmaker Ben Kalina will introduce the film and answer questions. What will a rising sea do to our homes, our businesses, and the survival of our communities? Can we afford to pile enough sand on our shores to keep the ocean at bay? In Long Beach Island, New Jersey and the Outer Banks of North Carolina, surfers, politicians, scientists and residents are racing to answer these questions!

FARM PRESERVATION WORKSHOP, 2-4:30pm, Fahey First Floor
Farm Club leads a weekly series where you get to try your hand at different food preservation methods (canning, pickling, etc.), interesting ways to add some life to your diet through the winter season (sprouting, fermenting, etc.), and general DIY food skills. Obviously, there isn't a surplus coming from the gardens right now, which is what most of these skills are great for, but we're gaining skills during the winter in preparation for the next growing season!

Sugaring season (making maple syrup from the sap of maples) is almost upon us, but Sam is thinking a bit farther ahead. Birches have a run of sap after maples, and the sap and bark of some species can be used to make birch beer. Let's go for one last walk in the woods and look for big yellow birches we could tap to experiment with making birch beer in the spring! Meet behind Robo at 3:10. Back by 5:20. Dress very warmly.
