On Tuesday, Jan 13, at 6pm, Argentine theater director Mariano Pensotti will teach a workshop on his theory and practice of creating fiction from true stories. Mariano Pensotti is one of Latin America’s brightest theater talents and one of the world’s most noted experimental directors. Pensotti has garnered international acclaim for creating theater that centers on the tension between fiction and reality.

 

His show, Cineastas, follows four filmmakers as they start new projects. The show uses an ingenious “split screen” set and switches rapid-fire between scenes from the filmmakers’ lives and their films, with funny, intriguing and haunting results.
