Enameling is the art of melting powdered glass onto metal. Traditionally, the glass fusing happens in a kiln. Melting the enamel with a torch changes the atmosphere giving vibrant colors and wonderful earth tones. It’s also a lot of fun! Come learn about this creative process from a modern enameling master.

Deborah Lozier from Oakland, California, is an internationally known metalsmith and enamelist. An adjunct professor at California College of the Arts, she teaches workshops at art institutions throughout the United States and England. Lozier’s jewelry and sculpture have been published in numerous books and magazines. Along with many private collections, her work is also included in the permanent collection of the Oakland Museum of California. deborahlozier.com
