Ever wondered what cutting edge physics research is going on today?

Ever wished you could sit down with a distinguished scientist and talk about their work in a small group setting?

If yes, then RSVP by Thursday at noon ?to the Dartmouth Physics Society's meet and greet with this week's colloquium speaker: Professor Priyamvada Natarajan.

Meet us in Wilder Hall, Room 103 at 4:45 pm this Friday for an informal discussion with Professor Priyamvada Natarajan about her research and the topic of this week's colloquium, Tracing the Growth of Black Holes in the Universe.

All are welcome, no background in physics is required or assumed!

Here's some more detail about this week's colloquium (Friday 3:30 pm, Wilder 103):

"Supermassive black holes appear to be ubiquitous in the nearby universe,
almost every galaxy in our neighborhood appears to host one. Bright luminous quasars powered by supermassive black holes also appear to be in place when the universe was barely a Gigayear old. I will discuss our current understanding of how and when these black holes formed, grew and evolved from early black hole seeds."

Sound Interesting? Then don't forget to RSVP By 12pm this Thursday to the Dartmouth Physics Society!
