Are you interested in emergency medicine? Do you want to learn how to be a first responder to all types of medical emergencies, especially those in the wilderness? If so, become an EMT and sign up for our R-EMT (Remote EMT) course instructed by Remote Medical International! You will learn everything from CPR and splinting to remote protocol IV setup and suturing, and everything in between!

Winterim Remote EMT Course

Certifications granted upon successful completion of course and exams: EMT from National Registry of EMTs, Remote EMT (covers wilderness protocol), Medical Care Person in Charge (MCPIC), and CPR for the Healthcare Provider.

Schedule: Course will run 8 hours daily from 11/30-12/22, and will meet 6 days on 1 day off. Practical examination and NREMT exam will not be included in the schedule but will be arranged for students who wish to challenge them.

P.E. Credit: This course will offer a retroactive fall 2014 P.E. credit for Dartmouth Students.

Housing Notice: All Dartmouth Students can apply for and will be granted free Interim Housing for the duration of the course. If you are a Dartmouth Student and you sign up for this course, this is strongly recommended. In your interim housing application you must state that you will be staying on campus to take this EMT course. The interim housing deadline is October 24th, 2014. Note that if you are off Winter term, you will have to make special arrangements with the housing office to be granted interim housing and will likely have to room with another individual taking the course.
