International Rescue Committee Economic Empowerment Program -- Silver Springs, MD

The International Rescue Committee in Silver Springs assists refugees resettling in the Metropolitan area prepare for the US job market. The IRC is seeking three general interns and one intern for three specializations: Global Women Empowered, Training, and External Relations and Marketing.


Collegiate Academies -- New Orleans, LA

Collegiate Academies is a network of three open enrollment charter high schools in New Orleans. Sci Academy is seeking an intern to work on the College Success Team, assisting first-generation and low-income college students gain access to resources for college access and success. An intern should be able to interact well with adolescents and be comfortable mentoring and speaking in front of a group.


Recycle-A-Bicycle -- Brooklyn, New York

Recycle-A-Bicycle uses the bicycle as a vehicle of social empowerment for under-resourced youth through environmental education, youth development, community engagement, social entrepreneurship, and healthy living programs. Interns will assist in the implementation of programs through mentoring and teaching youth.


Renaissance Youth Center -- Bronx, NY

Renaissance Youth Center provides tutoring, mentoring, music, dance and sports program and instruction to increase access to successful and healthy futures for low-income students in the Bronx. Intern responsibilities are flexible based on skill set; possibilities include tutoring youth, working in an afterschool program, assistant teaching music classes, working in sports clinics, assisting a mentoring program, assisting a STEM/Science Club, helping with audio and video equipment for a cable/online TV show, and recording/editing live music concerts.


Inner City Outings -- Los Angeles, CA

Inner City Outings enables inner city youth, disabled individuals, and others develop an appreciation for the natural environment through outdoor experiences and education. Interns help lead and assist with outings and education.


Friends of Rockaway -- Long Island, NY

Friends of Rockaway was founded in response to the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy on the Rockaway Peninsula. The organization rebuilds homes for displaced Sandy survivors who cannot afford to rebuild independently. Volunteers will assist in community development and basic construction.
