Dear Dartmouth Students,

If you care about eliminating sexual violence at Dartmouth, consider joining the Student and Presidential Committee on Sexual Assault.

This year over 1000 Dartmouth community members voted for the "Zero-tolerance Policy" on Improve Dartmouth.

Go beyond signing a petition, and put your brain and your voice to work.

The SPCSA is looking for new members.
Fill out our attached 2 question application to be considered.
More information here: http://dartmouthspcsa.wordpress.com/

APPLICATION IS DUE THIS SUNDAY APRIL 20 AT MIDNIGHT

What are we looking for?
We are looking for students from all areas of campus.
Knowledge and experience working with the issue of sexual assault is helpful but it is not required
We will provide students with a comprehensive orientation on the issue and current initiatives.
We want you to contribute your perspectives, and those of your communities, to our work.
What is the SPCSA?
It's community service
It's student advocacy
It's policy research
It's project management
...and it could be the the most meaningful thing you do at dartmouth.

We're task-orientated problem solvers that care about our community, culture and promote accountability on all levels: student, faculty, staff, administrator, leader & alumni.

We listen, we learn and when we develop a public agenda. We compile community recommendations that we circulate, follow up on, revise and don't give up on. We prioritize the best we can and we lobby hard for our causes.

In the past we have successfully recommended:
- Safe-ride
- 2nd SAAP co-ordinator
- New policies to Off-Campus Programs
- Centralized resource center for Prevention and Response to Assault
- Zero-toleranace policy on sexual assault

We know that it isn't enough, but it's a start.

We work hard year round to collaborate, corroborate and convince people from Dartmouth's community that sexual violence happens, that it's effects are devastating, that it is intolerable, and that it can be tackled.

This year agendas we are considering include:
Improving financial and ability-based access to sexual assault resources
Devising technological tools to facilitating reporting and navigating resources
Better accessibility of SPCSA members to all of campus

If these agendas speak to you, or if you come with your own agenda, submit an application here. We want to know what you care about and how you intend to show it.

SPCSA meetings at 8pm on Tuesdays and it is an expectation of all members that you are available during this time slot.
