It is designed to facilitate language and cultural exchange between international students and students interested in learning more about a foreign culture/language. LACE is supported by International Student Programs-Office of Pluralism and Leadership (ISP-OPAL). The role of the LACE Intern will be to: * Develop and maintain a student participant database * Match international students and native English speaking students * Correspond with program participants * Troubleshoot ineffective LACE matches * Organizing a social event for participants each term * Create and maintain the text for the LACE webpage * Advertise the program * Survey LACE participants at the end of the term * Write a brief (one page) report at the end of the program Required skills: * Strong organizational abilities * Ability to communicate effectively * Interest in cross cultural cooperation and communication * Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and online interfaces such as Dropbox and Google Documents * Knowledge of the Dartmouth College Update System (OmniUpdate) - If this system is unfamiliar to you, you will need to schedule some time in the term to learn the basic use of the program.
