Dartmouth Community,

This month the Greek Leadership Council passed into effect a new Greek Code of Standards Policy. This policy - passed unanimously by the Greek presidents - highlights Dartmouth's Official Principles of Community and provides a new mechanism for responding to violations of said principles within the Greek Community. In addition to providing this new avenue of reporting, the policy is also meant to be preventative in nature and aims to reaffirm principles of mutual respect and awareness in our community.

It is our goal that every member of the community has the knowledge and ability to confront and report violations of discrimination and bias-related incidents.

Violations include:
(a) Events or activities that usurp the culture or identity of other groups.
(b) Wearing or carrying apparel that would be insensitive to other cultures.
(c) Participating in the demeaning or degrading of other individuals or groups because of their differences.
(d) Sponsoring or participating in activities that would be unbecoming of a representative of the Dartmouth Greek Community.

To file a report:
-Reach out to GLC in person or over email by contacting one of the members
-Inform Wes Schaub, Director of Greek Letter Organizations and Societies, or anyone else in the GLOS offices
-Other places to report information to include the Bias Impact Response Team (BIRT), DOSS, and the Undergraduate Deans Office
-BIRT has an online report form that may also be submitted: https://publicdocs.maxient.com/reportingform.php?DartmouthCollege&layout_id=3

*When filing a report it is best to include as much information as possible: where and when did the offense occur, who was involved, and any relevant pictures.

Sincerely,
The Greek Leadership Council
