Nothing Hard About the Math; It's All About The Politics

Join four Government, Public Policy, and Economics professors this Thursday in Rocky 003 at 4:30 pm for an important panel discussion on the math and politics of the federal budget and US fiscal deficit.

Everyone is in agreement – more or less – about what needs to be done, but there is no political will to do so. What needs to be done is completely opposite of what every candidate promises during the campaign. This cycle has been going on for more than a decade. How do we stop it?

The panel features:
•       Linda L. Fowler, Professor of Government, Frank J. Reagan '09 Chair in Policy Studies
•       Russell Muirhead, Robert Clements Associate Professor of Democracy and Politics, Department of Government
•       Ronald G. Shaiko, Senior Fellow, Associate Director of Curricular Programs, Rockefeller Center, and Research Associate Professor, Department of Government
•       Charles Wheelan '88, Senior Lecturer and Policy Fellow, Rockefeller Center, and Senior Lecturer in Economics, Department of Economics

Moderator: Marjorie Rose, Senior Lecturer in Economics, Department of Economics.

Panel to be followed by a PoliTALK Student Dinner with Professors Shaiko and Wheelan. Reserve your space here: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/politalk-student-dinner-with-profs-shaiko-and-wheelan-tickets-10152174427
