Funded by the President's Office and Dean's Office, the Hoffman Research Grant provides research funding for students or groups of students interested in conducting research with a faculty member on sexual violence prevention. Grantees will receive a stipend of $750 for each term, up to two terms of research.

We are looking for student research projects that can advance our understanding of sexual assault as it relates to Dartmouth. This grant aims to provide an avenue for students to make contributions on the prevention of sexual violence through collaboration with students, faculty and administratorsThe research should aim to find concrete, feasible and constructive policy recommendations for students, faculty and/or administrators to reduce sexual violence at Dartmouth. 


Example topics:
    
    How effective is the COS Process? What policies and judicial procedures do other peer institutes pursue regarding sexual violence on campus?
    How effective are peer advising groups regarding sexual assault?
    What are the effects of Bored@Baker on students?
    What technology/apps are being used to report sexual violence and increase student safety, and do they work? Might they be useful at Dartmouth?
    How effective is the First Responder Training at Dartmouth? 
    
How to apply:

-Identify an area of research or policy related to sexual assault on college campuses, with applicability to Dartmouth. 
- Identify and discuss your project with a faculty member/administrator who can guide or assist your research and work out each other's expectations in working together.

What is SPCSA?
 
The Student and Presidential Committee on Sexual Assault acts an intermediary between students and the larger Dartmouth College community including the administration, faculty, and alumni of the college. One of the main functions of the SPCSA shall be to plan and implement cross-campus initiatives to address sexual violence.
