Preparation for Dartmouth Caribbean Connection's 2nd Annual Caribbean Carnival is underway! WHEN IS CARNIVAL!?!? - *Tentatively* MAY 3rd, 2014 Want to be part of the action!? * Blitz back to sign-up to be part of a Committee!! * ~ Be sure to include what committee you're interested in Carnival Committees (2-3 people per committee) * Costume * - Decide on the look of the Carnival costume (for men and women) - Recruit students to wear costumes - Secure costume vendor - Day of the Event: distribute costumes, sign costumes in and out * Food * - Create food menu and budget - Secure food vendors - Maintain correspondence with vendor - Help with food on day of an event * Funding * (dedicated and responsible students needed) - Finding/Contacting Sponsors - Writing funding proposals (with assistance of course!) - Maintain communication with potential funders * Entertainment * - Create online Artist survey - Secure entertainment - Take care of entertainer's requests (food, hotel, tour of school, etc) * Promotion & Logistics * - Advertising for Carnival (sending out blitzes, twitter, facebook, social media) - Design posters - Secure location for Carnival according to Safety Codes for Hanover and Dartmouth * Decoration * - Decorate Carnival Location - Decide on Carnival Favors (flags, shirts, wristbands, etc) - Secure vendors for carnival favors - Design Displays for campus (Foco, Library, etc.) - Decorate for Carnival Week Events, Help structure Carnival Week Events ~ Please blitz the account if you have any questions! ~ UPCOMING DCC EVENT: General Body (GB) Meeting: Monday, November 4th, 5PM in Cutter Shabazz First Floor Mural Room Stay Tuned for more from Dartmouth Caribbean Connection
