Over 80% of women and LBGTQ individuals worldwide have experienced some sort of street harassment.* Dartmouth is a place where everyone has the right to feel safe walking down the street. Street Harassment Awareness Week brings attention to this issue and motivates people to act.

Look out for slogans written in chalk around the streets of Dartmouth such as:

“My name is not ‘hey baby’”
          “Street harassment is not a compliment”
                   “We won't tolerate anti-gay slurs”
