Please join Dr. Wayne Gersen, an educational consultant who recently retired as Superintendent of SAU 70 in Hanover and Norwich, and Professor Michelle Tine, from Dartmouth’s Education Department, for a discussion about future trends in education. 

 

FEATURING:

        

Dr. Wayne Gersen: Dr. Wayne F. Gersen is an educational consultant and the President of the Hanover Rotary Club. After earning graduate degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Gersen served six years as a high school administrator in Pennsylvania and Maine and 29 years as Superintendent in Maine, New Hampshire, Maryland and New York. He did adjunct teaching at SUNY New Paltz and Vermont College and has had several articles published in Education Week.

 

Prof. Michelle Tine: Dr. Michelle Tine has a PhD from the Lynch School of Education at Boston College. Her work has been published in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition; the Journal of Neurophysiology; Cerebral Cortex; and in the book Developmental Science Goes to School (Routledge, forthcoming). Dr. Tine’s experience as a fifth grade teacher in an underprivileged urban school district continues to influence her research program.
