**Shanti is the Sanskrit word for Peace. This not only refers to peace between all beings, but also a state of inner peace which comes from the knowledge and understanding that keeps oneself strong in the face of hardship. Hindus worldwide seek this sense of inner peace through a variety of ways, including meditation, prayer, and lifestyle choices. Here at Dartmouth we try to pursue this ideal of inner peace, in the hopes that it will create an atmosphere of peace under which all members of the Dartmouth community can thrive.**
