About Yves Muya:

Yves Muya was born in The Democratic Republic of Congo. At the age of ten he and his family fled the war that had rapidly spread through his country. After being forced to leave Congo, Yves lived as a refugee in several countries including Zambia, Malawi, and South Africa. Despite his refugee status he was able to earn a competitive Fulbright Scholarship to Pitzer College in Los Angeles. No matter the circumstances, Yves has always believed in a better tomorrow. He has made many sacrifices to see this dream come true. He is now asking the world to believe with him that the war in Congo can end in this generation. Yves believes that by sharing his story of freedom he will be able to bring freedom to those who do not have it. Yves has been invited to share his story with thousands across America and we are excited to have him come to the Dartmouth community.
