Fibulas: The Ancient Brooch

Tuesday, May 1, 2012, 6:00-8:00 pm

Instructor: Jeff Georgantes

$15, (all materials included)

Safety pins are amazing objects that have done much more than hold diapers together. The root of their concept, the fibula, goes back for thousands of years.  This class will explore this ancient design idea and how in modern times it’s been reinterpreted in jewelry. Participants will create a variety of fibulas and non-soldered brooches.  No experience necessary.  This workshop is held in the Donald Claflin Jewelry Studio in the Hopkins Center.
