In the course of this lecture, Mr. Baur will discuss his reasons for founding Farm Sanctuary and the ways in which animal agriculture has transformed since the organization's beginnings in 1986. He will address the current realities of the industrial food system, including the use of antibiotics and hormones and environmental consequences such as climate change and air and water pollution. Through his lecture and the following Q&A session, audience members can engage in discussions about where our food comes from and explore the difference an individual can make on a global scale through his or her food choices. The lecture will be followed by a catered vegan dinner at 7pm when Mr. Baur will be signing his national best-selling book "Farm Sanctuary: Changing Hearts and Minds about Animals and Food."
