Dear IALL Members,

The IALL exhibit booth and sessions at ACTFL'99 in Dallas were all
well attended. Thank you to the many volunteers who helped staff the
booth and to those of you who attended the IALL sessions.

With ACTFL'99 behind us, we need to start planning for 2000. The
conference will be held in Boston, MA November 16-19, 2000.

The theme for the 2000 meeting is

                 Language Learners in the 21st Century:
                Every One, Every Day, Every Where

Each year IALL sponsors a number of sessions at ACTFL.  If you would
like  to submit a proposal for an IALL sponsored session for ACTFL '00
in  Boston, send your proposal to Jacqueline Kaminski at the address 
below.  Proposals must be received no later than January 10, 1999. To 
submit a proposal, you must be a member of IALL and  follow the ACTFL 
guidelines.

         Submit the original ACTFL Form and ten (10) copies
         The proposal must be typed
         There should be no attachments
         Do NOT submit by fax

The ACTFL proposal form can be found in the ACTFL'99 program. If you
need a copy, please contact me so that I can send you one. You can
also view the proposal form at the following address: http://www.actfl.org
However, DO  NOT use this form to submit your proposal since it will go
directly to ACTFL. Note that ACTFL's deadline is 1/3/99.
