I'm sure none of the people have meant their answers to be funny.

Funny thing is is that WordPerfect is free, as is Nisus 4.1.6 (which
handles JPN).  Are there computing policies against using free software?
And from what I understand, Apple gives a pretty good eduacational
discount for AppleWorks/ClarisWorks.

That's sad.  Would that more people realized that MS Office is not the be
all and end all of office suites.  Sure, WordPerfect and Nisus aren't
office suites, but they do have the ability to become basic spreadsheet
programs, and can be rigged for presentations.  AW/CW does databases.

You could bounce an email to them every day for a month and see what
