I am pleased to post in response to your query that our first DVD is now
available and it just happens to be the Italian classic film, "C'eravamo
tanto amati." It has menus that make it viewable on a standard consumer DVD
player with scene selection menus, scene overviews, and six different styles
of sub-titles. We are also putting the finishing touches on a teacher's
guide that will have every utterance in the full script bar code accessible
using the Pioneer DVD V7200 professional DVD player. In addition, the disc
will play under control of software on the PC. The suggested retail price
is $29.95 and it will be available shortly from Amazon.com as well as from
Creative Works at BYU.

Cheers,

Mike

Hello, all and Happy Thanksgiving!

An Italian professor here at Boston College is planning a new course
(for Spring 2000) on the city of Florence and has sought my assistance
in locating related Italian-language materials in video and/or cd-rom
format that might be used in the classroom or language resource center.
Of particular interest would be materials that are exclusively in
Italian but that would be accessible to undergraduate students whose
command of language is just beyond the intermediate (or 4th semester)
level.

Any ideas of vendors (US and otherwise) that might specialize in
such materials? (We already have some of the Films for the Humanities
materials, but they are in English.)

All suggestions gratefully accepted.

Cindy Bravo
