Foreign Language Computing Specialist
Instructional Computing Group
Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Computer Services
Harvard University

Duties: Provide instructional and technical computer support for faculty and staff in the foreign language areas of the F.A.S. Support includes assistance with instructional computing, general desktop and administrative software, specialty foreign language software, and Internet applications. Help recommend and maintain specialty foreign language software in FAS public computing facilities and over the FAS network. Coordinate foreign language computer support with other organizations. Work closely with others in Harvard Arts and Sciences Computer Services to coordinate and expand instructional and desktop computer services in the departments served. Lead workshops on the use of foreign language software and instructional computing.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and at least two years experience. Fluency in English and at least one Asian or Middle Eastern Language. Experience with European and non-European foreign language software on the Windows and Macintosh platforms and Internet applications in foreign countries. Excellent communication skills. Strong computer troubleshooting, support skills and experience. Ability to clearly understand the mission and focus of the departments supported.
