Instructional Systems Developer
UMagic Systems, Inc.

POSITION: Immediate opening for developer of instructional programs, not for
language areas, but for an intelligent commercial web site which simulates a
human expert and supports users in daily interactions for a program lasting
months. Long-term programs to be developed are in the areas of nutrition,
exercise, investment, and relationships (but no initial knowledge needed).

DUTIES:  Work as part of a development team to help implement the detailed
design of the initial sites by writing rules expressing the conditions under
which various informational and functional capabilities are presented, and
help test and maintain these rules.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree and some instructional system design (ISD)
experience or experience in the development of knowledge-based systems or
expert systems.  Willingness to be trained in AI areas. Good communication
skills and ability to work as part of a team.  Knowledge of object-oriented
approaches a plus, as is knowledge of ISD and story-boarding tools, or
languages such as LISP, C++, Prolog, and Perl. Must be willing to work in
New York City.
