Hello Everyone....

    I have been working as Acting Director of the Media Center described
below since the beginning of this academic year, so if anyone has any
questions regarding the operation of the lab, feel free to reply to me
off-list.

Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee has posted the
following open position in our Media Center for Language Acquisition:

Director of the Media Center for Language Acquisition

Tenure-track faculty position (Position #: 124110) to direct the Media
Center and teach 2 courses per semester.  Doctoral degree required in one of
the following disciplines: foreign language acquisition, foreign language
instructional technology, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Russian,
Spanish, or comparative literature.  Must have: (1) state-of-the-art
knowledge in the use of technology in foreign language learning and
instruction, (2) advanced experience in PCs and networking (experience with
Novell Netware preferred but not required), (3) experience with PC hardware
installation and some repair, (4) experience in the development and use of
the Internet and webpage design (experience developing web-based activities
and use of authoring packages a plus), and (5) college-level teaching
experience in foreign languages.  Duties include general oversight of all
Media Center operations, supervision of student workers, trouble-shooting
computer software and hardware problems, providing technical support for
faculty in the intergration of technology into instruction, assisting in the
planning of equipment acquisition, and maintaining departmental webpage.
Teaching responsibilities include a graduate level course in foreign
language instructional technology.  Experience in grant writing and ESL
programs a plus.
