Do any of you have fees for services such as foreign video conversion,
duplication of videos, audio cassettes etc.?

The reason I ask is that we are being asked to "justify" our charges to
internal auditors. We based our charges on what our Media Services people
charge (we try not to step on their turf however and stick to foreign video
conversions mostly.

We charge $15 for the 1st hour and 1/2 that for the next. We ask customers
to provide a blank cassette or we provide one at cost. We charge
fractional parts of hours but charge the same for personal and professional
work (we do not charge our own dept. faculty).

We frankly don't make much from any of this. We really consider this more
of a service for faculty and the public so we're happy if we break even. I
could relate lots of funny stories and some not-so-funny ones about our
services but I'd rather get your input on fees if you provide similar services.

Thanks,

Don Sundheim
