We have CAN 8 at the University of Alabama and digitizing audio is in real 
time.  The CAN 8 people set us up with two digitizing boxes, so we can work on 
two tapes at a time. I'm lucky to have several TA's at my "disposal" this 
semester, and they have been able to digitize a large amount of material quite 
efficiently. The sound quality is fine, and the students really like using the 
audio materials in this form.

I'm still learning about the video part, and it looks to be more complicated!
