Director of Language Resource Center, a 30-station Windows95/Mac multimedia
facility serving the Department of Languages & Culture Studies and the
English Language Training Institute at the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte. Prior experience required in CALL and technology-enhanced
instruction. The Director will oversee operations of the LRC and its staff;
troubleshoot hardware and software; continue development of LRC
infrastructure, acquisition of materials and planning for growth; provide
training workshops and supervision of internship development projects; and
help integrate technology into classroom instruction. M.A. degree required,
preferably in foreign language study or a field related to information
technology, as well as prior work in educational lab settings. Must be able
to work well with students, faculty members, and machines. Experience in
grant-writing and working knowledge of at least one foreign language
preferred. Position available for January 2000. Review of applications
will begin November 18, 1999, and will continue until the position is
filled. Full-time, 12-month position. Salary competitive and commensurate
