**REMINDER**REMINDER**REMINDER**REMINDER

The Fall '99 SALT conference is nearing.  The conference topics will
deal with "Collaborative efforts in technology mediated teaching and
learning".

The Southwest Association for Language and Technology invites proposals
for its semi-annual conference which will be held on the California
State University, Northridge campus on Friday, November 5th and
Saturday, November 6th, 1999. We encourage submission of proposal
(several have already been received) dealing with, but not limited to,
the following topics:

Technical issues: Digital vs analog facilities
Lab planning
Incorporating technology in the language curriculum
Assessment issues
Equipment/software demonstrations
On-line testing
Grant writing and lobbying for resources
Faculty training and development
Strides and obstacles facing lab directorships

Proposals and/or  panel discussions should be 30-45 minute sessions with
an additional 15 minutes dedicated to questions and answers where
appropriate.  Please include the following information:
