We recently upgraded all of our Macintosh computers, some as old as the
Old Quadra 660 AV's from the early 90's. Normally, I purchase new
computers each year, oh say 4, but this year I decided to upgrade all of
our Macs and have been very, very pleased with the results. All of our
Macs now have a minimum of 40 mb of ram and all can now handle the latest
versions of Netscape/Explorer and the various software products now on the
market. And...with the extra $7,000 or so saved, we have been able to
purchase other needs for the lab such as videos, video camrecorders, tape
players, etc... I'm rather glad that we took a breather from purchasing
new equipment and trusted our older macs to perform even better with a bit
of a booster shot!

One draw back...I purchased the memory for the macs this summer when
prices were 50-75% cheaper than they are now, what with the earthquake in
Taiwan. So, should you decide to upgrade, you may want to find out when
prices may be going down....

Linda (:
