------------------
More on my problem with playing MIDI instrumental files. I have a note
from someone with a PC who informs me that he too had a similar problem
which ha was able to resolve through a settings option in Quicktime (whic
I cannot find). He states that he deselected Quicktime where he did not
want it to play a certain file type. However, in my case, it looks like
the MIDI files need to be played by QT Musical Instruments, which I no
longer have. Is this REALLY TRUE, or will some integrated function of the
new Quicktime play MIDI if I only knew to make the right settings
ajustment?

If I look go into my Netscape "preferences" and I look at "applications",
I note that Quicktime 4+ plus-in has taken up a number of roles. I wonder
if this will be a problem down the road with other functions. I note also
that among the midi functions, the only one with a mime type of
"audio/x-midi" is handled by "live audio".
