>Subject: MAC OS 8.6 on Power Computing clones

Amigos Neteros:

We have several language faculty members who purchased Power Computing
clones (Power Base and Power Center models, running with 180 speed
processors) which came with system 7.5.5. At the moment we want to get
everyone on the same system, i.e., MAC OS 8.6. (We realize that with 8.1
the file structures were altered, thus resulting in reduced file size. At
the time 8.1 was released, there were caveats regarding any changeover from
earlier systems, the details of which escape me.)

What we would like to find out is whether or not other LLTI-ers have
upgraded their clones to 8.6, and if so, have you experienced any major
difficulties?

BTW, we realize that MAC is promising bigger and better things to come, but
we hope that if we do go to 8.6 that the next jump should be a relatively
easier one.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide.
