>Subject: Re: #5148 South American Satellite Question

------------------
Dear David,

We are able to get RTP (Portuguese) and some Spanish on M1, and a few
Mexican channels on M2. We have the same receiver that you have and a
similar location, though I don't know how far the footprint extends. Once
you find the satellites, you may have to adjust the polarity to get the
channels. The manual for the receiver has this information.

By the way, Dish Network has reasonable prices on equipment (small dish)
and commercial programming in many languages (Univision, RAI, TV5, RTP,
etc.) We may add a small dish or two this fall. Unfortunately, the
International Channel (a bargain at $100 per year) is not in the Dish
Network lineup. We are also considering the purchase of a 4DTV
digital/analog receiver to upgrade our big dish, but unfortunately General
Instruments has run out of stock and there is a production backlog.

I would love to hear of anyone's experiences with Dish network and/or 4DTV.

Cordially,
Karl
