Position:                       DIRECTOR-LANGUAGE LEARNING LAB

Recruitment Number:                     AE99-032

Review Date:                    Review of applications will begin immediately
                                and continue until filled.

Basic Function: This position works in close collaboration with the English
Language Programs and the department of Modern Languages and Literatures
and oversees the day-to-day operations of a new computer and audio center;
maintains a local area network; coordinates and supervises student
employees; and develops training and instructional material for using
technology in the teaching of languages.

Special Note:   This position during the course of university employment
will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds
or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access to the
developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of
16.  Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree; knowledge of at least one foreign
language; experience teaching foreign languages or English as a Second
Language; experience with technology in language teaching and teacher
development; excellent administrative, organizational and communication
skills required.

Date of Appointment:    August 1999.
