>Subject: CALICO Journal Policy Changes

------------------
At the CALICO '99 conference at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, the
CALICO Editorial Board recommended and the CALICO Executive Board approved
two changes in policies governing the CALICO Journal. These changes will
take effect in September 1999.

1. CALICO will publish three issues of the CALICO journal per academic year
    instead of four.

2. It is no longer required that authors of articles in the CALICO Journal be
    members of the organization.

These two changes are designed to improve the CALICO Journal and to make it
easier for potential authors to publish in the Journal. It should be noted
that contributors to the Journal are strongly encouraged to join CALICO
since membership allows full participation in CALICO activities and offers
substantial benefits such as discounts on CALICO publications and events.
