Applied Computer Analyst (r, 06-30-99) in the Computer Center.
Responsibilities:  Manage and maintain the library's Innovative Interfaces
system.  Work closely with the library staff in the installation,
maintenance and operational support of library computers; develop
Internet, network and World Wide Web applications.  Provide leadership,
training and technical expertise in the selection, development and
implementation of new information technologies and their applications.
Provide one-on-one assistance with complex software/hardware challenges;
assist with the development of computer-based, multimedia presentations
and other instructional materials.  Perform other duties as assigned by
the Director of the Computer Center.  First priority will be meeting the
computer support needs of the University Library.  Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in computer science or related area.  Excellent
communications skills and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of
microcomputer operating systems, as well as a wide variety of computer
applications programs required.  Salary: Dependent upon qualifications.

Facilities:  The Computer Center, located in a newly remodeled facility
near the center of the campus, has recently purchased the SCT Banner
student information system and a SUN E5000 hardware system to run it.
This system is replacing a locally written system which runs on an IBM
ES/9000 model 191.  The campus has approximately 1500 microcomputers,
including those running Windows 95, Windows NT, Linux, and Mac OS, Fiber
optic cabling to support the campus' backbone network is installed
throughout the campus, and all on-campus student residences are wired for
access to the Intenet.
