It's the time of the year when many universities start closing down. The number of requests for signing off etc. is increasing! The following contains the information you need for subscribing and for signing off.

These instructions are for the listserv

[log in to unmask] (Language Learning Technology International)

Please keep them since they contain information about subscribing and signing off.

1. AOL USERS: AOL requires something in the subject line whenever you communicate with a listserv. So enter a couple of letters in the subject line to satisfy this requirement. This has no impact on the subscription, since this line is ignored by the listserv mechanism.

2. AUTOMATIC MAIL MESSAGES: Please do not activate automatic replies in your
mail system while subscribed to a listserv - unless you know that your mail system and the listserv mechanism communicate properly.

3. llti is a moderated list which means that subscribers' postings sent to [log in to unmask] are not posted immediately but have to be posted by the editor.

Subscribers communicate with a list via e-mail. The examples below illustrate subscribing and signing off.

SUBSCRIBE

to: [log in to unmask]
subject:
message: sub llti firstname lastname

===============================

SIGNOFF

to: [log in to unmask]
subject:
message: signoff llti

Note that all commands are addressed to the listserv, not to the list.
Additional commands/requests can be sent to the listserv. For the subscribers' list, for example, do this:

to [log in to unmask]
subject:
message: review llti

You will receive a file containing all names and email addresses

The archives and a search mechanism are located at

Instructions are on the page.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS

If a subscriber changes his/her email address, he/she can no longer unsubscribe
from the new email address. Please notify the editor ([log in to unmask]), supply the original email address, and request manual deletion.

If a subscriber wants to continue the subscription from the new email address
he/she should resubscribe from the new address.
