BeeJay - you are absolutely correct - and - in my experience, most Foreign
Language Audio Cassette publishers are quite liberal with duplication
permission as long as they are sure a lab is not exploiting them by
reducing potential or real sales - selling for profit, etc.
I'm sure all readers of this list are aware that unauthorized cassette
duplication of copyrighted material is unlawful!
Some publishers have developed inexpensive tape sets that allow students
to acquire legal copies for about $3 a tape instead of having to pay the
full list price for each set. Surely this is a better solution than
circulating lots of illegal copies.
