One of the tools which I use is called Quick View - it came with the WP 7
Prof. Suite, but I believe can be bought separately. It opens most files,
although not Word98. It is really handy because it opens so quickly, it
doesn't bog down the computer, and it allows you to cut and paste from one
program to the other. It works not only with word processors, but also with
a number of database and graphic formats. It has saved my bacon more than
once.

The other option is to download viewers - MS has them for many of its
programs and it allows you to open files from some of the latest programs
without having to have the program itself. This is perfect for people who
consistently receive attachments in Word, PowerPoint or Excel and don't own
the program. I'm not sure if Corel has come out with viewers or not, I
think that they have. If they can be found try: www.corel.com .

Sorry, I did find some try them at:

Good luck.

What? MickeySoft not recognizing anyone else's format? Couldn't be. <g>
While Corel is taking great pains to be able to convert M$Word formats (all
of it's internally incompatible formats), unfortunately, Word doesn't do the
same. A stopgap is to save the WP formats in Word format (which WP can do).
The Mac version of WordPerfect (3.5) also does a pretty decent conversion.

Has anyone had any success with Office 98 (for Macintosh) opening/
converting Windows WordPerfect 6 files (from an attachment).

I think our friends at Microsoft have left off many conversion utilities
for the new (and improved?) Word.

Thanks.
