>Subject: Video servers

Dear LLTIers,

I'd like to know what kind of server you are using or would use for
streaming video.
I'd particularly like to hear your evaluations/comparisons of the Cheetah,
Alex and RealVideo servers as well as your recommendations for other
servers that are cost effective for streaming audio and video. One last
question: Is anyone using a Cheetah server or Alex server that streams
video beyond a central location e.g. in a language lab to remote campus
sites e.g. in other public labs and dorms. Thanks in advance, Ed Dixon
