Close looks at an apparent pair of Blue-gray Gnatcatchers highlighted a visit to Lake Runnemede with Ed Hack and George Clark. We also found a Green Heron and female Rusty Blackbird. We had hoped for some waterbird fall-out from the rain, but, amazingly, not a single bird was on the water. A Canada Goose on her nest was the sum total of waterfowl there.
At Kilowatt South, a Red-necked Grebe in breeding plumage was the only species of note, though waterfowl diversity is still solid there, with 8 species, plus 3 Double-crested Cormorants.
