I birded today from Orford to Monroe, then down the Vermont side to Fairlee. Pretty windy and cold and some of my favorite spots were flooded, but I managed a few good birds. The Merlins were still present on the mall in Orford as John Quimby reported, I also had American Kestrels at the Richmond Land and Plains Road in Monroe (no Sandhill Cranes). A Peregrine Falcon over Peaked Mountain in Piermont and one near Sawyer Mountain in Fairlee. Also notable was a Snow Goose with a flock of Canada Geese across from the Newbury Vet Clinic in Newbury.
