For the past 3 days, at least 4 golden-crowned kinglets busy foraging the brush at pond’s edge. Melting snow has revealed dog’s tennis balls - chickadee perched on one, pulling at the fuzzier. The wool roving (unspun wool) I ran to put out has been disdained. The orioles will take it, so there. And finally some goldfinches, missing all winter, also FOY purple finches 3m, 1f so far. A bit of open water at last on the pond with common and hooded mergansers, 6 wood ducks, mallards and geese. Hope the wood duck house gets occupied. Happy Spring. Thanks, Jim Block, for amazing spring photos… Canaan (Goose Pond)
