MECHANICAL ENGINEER / JUNIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER<http://toolinc.com/jobs/#tab-949-1>

Mechanical Engineers at tool. are part of a small team of Engineers and Industrial Designers that designs a variety of consumer and commercial products. They participate in brainstorming and concept development for generating product ideas. Engineers need to be able to lead the CAD design and prototyping efforts of multiple projects at once. They also perform general project management duties, including interfacing with clients, sourcing materials and vendors for prototyping, managing the project schedule and presenting their models in customer design reviews.

Candidates with some work experience in a Mechanical Engineering position (3+ years) would be considered for the Mechanical Engineer position, while those with little to no relevant work experience would be considered for a junior position. A BS degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Experience at a Product Design or an Industrial Design firm is a plus. Experience with SolidWorks and/or Creo is required, as CAD is a major component of our work. Demonstrably strong complex surfacing skills and experience, particularly using the Style feature in Creo, is a huge plus, but is not required. Experience designing parts for injection molding, die casting, sheet metal bending and machining is desired. Candidates should have project management experience, strong mechanical aptitude and a passion for product design.

US citizenship is required.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER<http://toolinc.com/jobs/#tab-949-3>

We are looking for some creative and fun electrical engineers at tool. We currently contract EE resources on a project-by-project basis. We are looking for additional resources to draw from but are also exploring the possibility of a part-time or full-time position. Candidates should have work experience in a Electrical Engineering capacity, PCB system design and programming. EE will support industrial designers and mechanical engineers to develop electrical components for consumer, medical, industrial and military applications.

A BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required. Experience at a Product Design or Industrial Design firm is a plus. Experience with 3D CAD applications and ability to produce 3D CAD files of PCB and system designs for integration into mechanical database required (SolidWorks preferred).

Candidates should have an understanding of proper guidelines for designing electrical systems (UL, CE and FCC) as used in consumer electronics and industrial/medical/military products. Candidates will need to provide fixed cost estimates on electrical engineer design component of projects. Candidates will need to work within the time frame established in the proposal for the body of work and coordinate with the mechanical engineering team.

US citizenship is required.
