Corporate Overview: Nanoscale has developed a novel, low-cost process to pre-lithiate lithium-ion battery electrodes, enabling cell manufacturers to use high-specific capacity materials such as silicon to make cells with significantly higher energy density than today's best cells. We have demonstrated high performance cells with anodes that hold more than 1200 mAh/g, three times the capacity of the graphite anodes used in today's cells. Nanoscale has already demonstrated a factor of 250,000 process scalability in roll-to-roll manufacturing, and is currently working with materials manufacturers and cell makers to commercialize the process

Job Description: Nanoscale Components, Inc. is seeking a chief engineer to lead a small team to design, build and deploy custom electro-chemical processing equipment for the Lithium Ion battery industry. The role involves component and assembly design, prototype building and testing, system level integration and customer deployment of equipment while supporting in-house R&D efforts. Ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and machine design, industrial controls and sensors, safety requirements for combustible liquids, handling of industrial chemicals, as well as a strong understanding of electrical circuits and DC power systems. Experience with electro-chemical plating line equipment and operations is advantageous. This is both a leadership and a hands-on role.

Requirements:
* B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
* 10+ years of experience in industrial equipment design.
* Experience with 3D CAD programs (Pro-E, Solidworks etc).
* Experience with PLC controls and programming.
* US citizen or permanent resident.
