On a late afternoon bike ride yesterday, I was surprised to hear a singing
Brown Thrasher in a spot where I've never heard one before.  I came to an
abrupt halt (along River Road between Lyme and Orford, near the corner of
Lamphire Hill Lane, just before the pavement ends), and since the tree he
was sitting in had not leafed out yet, I had no trouble spotting him.
