My late afternoon walk up Storrs Hill resulted in 7 American Pipits in the north Tomapo hayfield.  Given the results of past years, I am sure more are on the way.  Although they may conclude that they have already reached the northern tundra given the snow squalls and cold winds I encountered.

Note:  Same location as yesterday afternoon, a Broad-winged Hawk flew across the road in front of me, headed for the tall white pines on opposite side of road.  Active nest site ??
