As Kyle Kittelberger noted in his post yesterday, low water on the Connecticut has exposed mudflats and attracted a nice assortment of waterfowl. From the River Trail in Hanover this afternoon I saw a pair of Northern Shovelers working the edges of the mudflats below Ledyard Bridge. A bit farther downriver was the pair of wigeon that Kyle reported yesterday, plus good numbers of other waterfowl. From the River Trail I also saw and heard a Louisiana Waterthrush along the edge of Mink Brook.
