An old Health Advances colleague of mine is launching a start-up down in the DC area and had an open position. The job description sounds like something that someone at Thayer with medical imaging processing experience might be well-suited for. I thought I'd pass it along to you in case you had anyone looking for jobs in this area at the moment:

"Sonavex, a Johns Hopkins University spin-off, is simplifying ultrasound to move it from the radiology suite to the bedside. We are currently hiring a full-time Director of R&D. Key responsibilities include leadership of algorithm development, culminating in FDA submission. EchoSure, our first product, is a hybrid implant/ultrasound system that automates image analysis so nurses can diagnose patients with blood clots at the point of care. EchoSure has undergone successful large animal testing and won numerous awards for technical innovation.

The ideal candidate must have strong communication skills, the ability to work well in a team setting and interest in seeing their work directly help patients. Proficiency in image analysis, computer vision or ultrasound are beneficial but not required. Appropriate candidates may have the opportunity for equity ownership and to assume the role of Principal Investigator on a newly awarded NIH small business grant."

Happy to forward along any interested parties.

Hope all is well up in NH!

Jen
