Ascutney Mountain Audubon Society Annual Dinner and Program

Join AMAS on Friday, October 24th for our annual dinner and program. Location is the Methodist Church on the square in downtown Springfield, VT.

A traditional turkey dinner will be served starting at 6:00 pm . A vegetarian option will be available as well. Reservations for the dinner can be made by sending a check made out to AMAS for $13 for each meal by October 17 to:

PO Box 321
Westminster, VT 05158

Following the dinner, at 7 pm Dr. Leonard Reitsma will give a fascinating presentation on The Secret Sex Life of Canada Warblers. Dr. Reitsma is an avian ecologist and professor of zoology at Plymouth State University. He has conducted research on migratory bird ecology in the Caribbean where his subjects included American Redstarts, Black-throated Blue Warblers, and Northern Waterthrushes. In 2003, he started a continuous population study of Canada Warblers in Canaan, NH, his home town. This study revealed many warbler family secrets that he will share with us. Many of you know that Len is a dynamic speaker and he clearly enjoys sharing his knowledge of migratory bird ecology, the natural history of New England, and the conservation of open spaces. You won't want to miss his talk! There is no cost for the program. All are welcome!
